sailing courses
We are a newly established sailing school in Ramsgate and are proud to be a recognised RYA Training Centre providing RYA sail cruising courses from Start Sailing to Coastal Skipper, as well as our own bespoke courses and mile building experiences.
For crew...

for skippers...
We offer 2 RYA recognised courses for skippers, RYA Day Skipper Practical and RYA Coastal Skipper Practical as well as a number of other bespoke courses that have been specifically designed by us.

RYA Coastal skipper Course
The RYA Coastal Skipper practical sailing course is the advanced practical qualification that when achieved gives you the skills and techniques required to skipper a cruising yacht safely on coastal passages by day and night. This course builds on and refines the navigation and boat handling skills taught at Day Skipper level. The aim is to extend your knowledge, awareness and standards of navigation and seamanship so that you can exercise good judgement and make appropriate decisions in und familiar and challenging circumstances.

1 Day Boat and Sail Handling Course

For skippers who want a refresher, book a 1 day intensive course tailored to those manoeuvres you find most difficult or just want to practice without real life pressure. Whether it is close quarter boat handling in a marina, picking up a mooring buoy under sail alone or M-O-B drills, we will ensure you gain knowledge, experience and competence.

Skills and Drills Weekend for the rusty skipper Course
Same course as the boast and sail handling course, but with more time for skill development and a wider variety of exercises. Perhaps you haven’t anchored in a while, or prepared and executed a Passage Plan? Give us a call and explain what you need.

3 Day ICC Preparation Course

The ICC (International Certificate of Competence) is what you will most likely require in order to charter a yacht in Europe. It is pitched at a standard approximating to RYA Day Skipper level. RYA Training Centres are able to provide (usually a one day) assessment of your skills and if satisfactory you will be able to apply direct to the RYA for your ICC. The 3 day preparation course will cover all the ICC essentials you will need and will identify and focus on those areas most in need of improvement in order to give you the best possible chance of success.

Mile building & Cruising
Build your experience (don’t forget, RYA Day Skipper only qualifies you for familiar waters in daylight hours) by coming as 1st Mate or Crew on one of our skippered cruises.
